What is it?
The "tummy tuck" is a major surgical procedure used
to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen
and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. The procedure
does produce a permanent scar, which, depending on the extent
of the original problem and surgery required to correct it,
can extend from hip to hip.

Dr. Iacono follows one of
three tummy tuck protocols, depending on the condition of the patient:
- Removal of skin and fat. Transposition of umbilicus with reconstruction
of abdominal wall.
- Removal of skin and fat. Transposition of umbilicus without
reconstruction of abdominal wall.
- Limited resection of abdominal skin and fat, with or without
liposuction, without transposition of umbilicus and without
reconstruction of abdominal wall.

Surgical Considerations
Surgery is performed in an accredited outpatient surgery center
