What is it?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the
eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle.

Lower blepharoplasty, involves a below-the-lid incision, primarily for fat removal. This may be performed with or without the resection of external skin.

Upper blepharoplasty is performed with the resection of skin and with or without the resection of muscle and fat beneath the lid.

Either or both of these procedures are performed, depending on the needs of the patient.

What does it help & not help?

Blepharoplasty helps with:

  • drooping eyelids
  • baggy eyelids
  • wrinkles

How long will it last?
Blepharoplasty generally has long term results, lasting 10-15 years. Secondary surgery is not necessary in most cases.

Surgical Considerations
Surgery is performed in an accredited outpatient surgery center or hospital.
