What is it?

A CO2 laser generates a small, intense and highly focused beam of light that is used to treat tissues by heating the targeted cells until they "burst". The CO2 laser beam is very strong and may only be used on the face. Skin in other areas of the body are too sensitive to withstand CO2 laser treatment
without burning.

Laser treatment can used to:
  1. destroy diseased tissues (such as tumors)
  2. seal small blood vessels (coagulation) to reduce blood loss
  3. reduce scarring normally associated with non-laser surgeries
  4. remove tattoos and birthmarks
  5. resurface skin
Dr. Iacono has been performing laser surgery since 1992. Often, laser surgery is done in conjunction with a face lift. For facial rejuvenation, Dr. Iacono also uses a vascular, IPL and Irbium lasers.

What does it help & not help?

Usually helps with:

  • deep facial lines
  • wrinkles
  • lids
  • forehead
  • brow
  • neck
  • skin rejuvination

Does not help:

  • skin areas apart from face and neck

Surgical Considerations
Carbon Dioxide Laser Surgery is performed under local anesthesia in an accredited outpatient surgery center or hospital.
