What is it?
Face lifts remove coarse wrinkling and sagging skin due to aging. The Omega incision technique used by Dr. Iacono reduces the visibility of surgical scars and the potential for hair loss. After making this minimally invasive incision around the front and back of the ear but not into the hairline, he tightens the underlying muscle and membrane (called the SMAS layer). He may also remove some of the fat tissue and loose skin.

Dr. Iacono's procedure uses a short scar incision that does not extend into the patient's hairline. This reduces visibility of the scar and shortens recovery.

What does it help & not help?

Usually helps with:

  • excess skin in jowels, cheeks, neck
  • some excess fat
  • some wrinkles
  • contour if due to loose skin

Will not help with:

  • forehead, eyes, upper lip
  • some wrinkles
  • aging process

How long will it last?
A Face Lift usually lasts 5-10 years depending on the aging process. Older patients with extreme laxity and elastic damage may require a secondary procedure within a year or two for optimal improvement.

Surgical Considerations
Surgery is performed in an accredited outpatient surgery center or hospital.
