Septoplasty by itself will improve breathing but when the septum is markedly deviated, improved appearance will be a secondary benefit.

How long will it last? Septoplasty is typically permanent.

Surgical Considerations Septoplasty is performed under anesthesia in an accredited outpatient surgery center or hospital. It is postoperatively painless and usually does not result in black and blue marks or swelling of the face.
